The entire world of fairy tales gets utterly mixed up in this silly one-act that has room in the cast for your entire class!
The Grimm brothers are writing their stories late into the night when suddenly a terrible gust of wind flings open the door and blows the pages everywhere! Later that night, the stories begin to intermingle in Wilhelm’s dreams.
Cinderella’s desperately trying to get to the royal ball, but somehow she’s ends up at Rapunzel’s tower. As her Fairy Godmother mistakenly sends her on to the Seven Dwarves’ cottage and Snow White’s castle, Cinderella meets loads of new friends — dwarves, bears, pigs, and witches! — all of whom are just as lost and out of place as she is! When they all finally make their way to the ball, Cinderella finally meets her prince, and they all share a giant fairy tale party “happily” thereafter!

Performances: March 23 and 24 at 3:00 pm
Additional Rehearsals: March 18, 20, & 22 from 5:00-6:30
This fast-moving comedy centers around poor Sir Gawain, whose courage is questioned by the other knights. Alas! Morgan le Fay, the evil enchantress, desires nothing more than to see Camelot destroyed, and she will not leave unless the kingdom can produce a knight who can pass her tests of bravery, honesty, and loyalty.
Sir Gawain, needing to prove his bravery, accepts the challenge. The trial begins with the knight getting to strike the monstrous Green Knight three times... three blows that the Green Knight will return in a year’s time. During the year, Sir Gawain successfully completes the tests of honesty and loyalty in comic style, but the hapless knight still must meet the Green Knight again with hopes of winning the hand of Lady Elaine, saving Camelot, and upholding the reputation of the Knights of the Round Table.

Footlights: Game of Myths (Grades 6-8)
with Emily Griffin

Grades 6-8

Performances: March 23 and 24 at 4:30 pm
Additional Rehearsals: March 19, 20, & 21 from 6:30-8:00
Easy staging and a highly flexible cast are just part of the delight in this award-winning one-act. There’s also a huge dose of positive energy as the Greek gods learn that the Cloud Throne is up for grabs, with Zeus declaring the coveted throne will go to the do-gooder who’s the most helpful, compassionate, and caring.
What follows is a series of short scenes adapted from traditional Greek tales but told with a cheerful twist and an emphasis on magnanimity. Aphrodite plays matchmaker for Pygmalion. Ariadne helps Theseus to defeat the Minotaur. Hades allows his wife, Persephone, to leave the underworld every once in a while to visit Mom. Athena and Hermes give Perseus the confidence — and firepower — to slay Medusa. The Muses make things right for Paris and Helen. Even the fickle Fates act favorably toward faithful Moira!
As all the gods gather in the final scene for an Academy Awards-style show, how will Zeus decide among so many good deeds done? We find that old habits die hard in this fun tale of mythological creatures, mere mortals, and (mostly) good gods full of goodwill and grace.

Put those acting skills to use in a courtyard performance. Gain valuable experience from auditions to production and everything in between as we prepare to present an outstanding performance!
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:30 pm in Classroom A and the Courtyard Stage

Additional rehearsals on May 6-9, 2024 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
Work in tandem with other high school students to present a Courtyard production of the Greek Tragedy, Medea. “Deaf to the warnings of her nurse and chorus, grief-stricken Medea seeks solace in destroying Jason, her unfaithful husband. She ruthlessly severs her husband's lineage only to find herself "alone and forsaken" alongside the man she condemned to desolate solitude. A condensed adaptation of the classic tragedy that effectively explores Medea's disjointed psyche within the context of ancient Greek values.”
