Adult Classes

Adult Stretch & Strengthen

Our Stretch & Strengthen class is designed to be a safe environment for mindful movement. Over 30 minutes, we will warm up our bodies and perform exercises with plenty of options for modification, so you can make this class as gentle or as challenging as your body needs! Our stretches and exercises are based in yoga, Pilates, and dance flexibility and conditioning. We end with a few moments of restorative poses and quiet reflection. This class is open to anyone, as it is customizable to each person's  own body, stamina and flexibility ability. This can be a great option for anyone recovering from an injury, postpartum, or as a safe way to start your fitness journey. It can serve as a stretch and cool down for more active athletes.

Please bring a yoga mat if you have one (some are available to borrow at the studio), and you're welcome to bring any other yoga props you may have such as a block, bolster, or strap. Chair modifications can be available upon request.

Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Bare feet is fine, although you may wear socks or yoga socks if you are prefer.

Dance Bootcamp for Adults

This fun and upbeat class is open to any adult who wants to bring out their inner dancer! No experience is necessary, but students should be ready to hit the floor and get moving! We will warm-up, learn basic dance moves and travel across the floor, before learning a short combo. The class will primarily focus on jazz technique, but we will venture into lyrical and contemporary styles for at least 1-2 classes.

This class is great for anyone who danced in middle school or high school and wants to get back into it, or for former cheerleaders, gymnasts, as well as strong movers from a yoga or theatre background. This is a multi-level class that will set foundational basics for beginners, and push more advanced students at their own level.

Athletic wear is fine, leotard and tights are not required. Comfortable, form fitting clothes that allow the dancer to move and the teacher to see body alignment. Dance shoes like jazz shoes or ballet shoes are a great option but students can also wear regular socks, yoga socks, or clean tennis shoes. (Street shoes can track grime and germs onto our studio floors so please make sure tennis shoes used for class are clean and only indoor shoes.) 

*Students who take the summer bootcamp are eligible to audition for DanceMHT’s adult performance group for fall through spring. Attending summer bootcamp is necessary for any student wishing to participate in the group in the fall.*
